NICE TO MEET YOU
Welcome! I’m Jess D (they/them), the Founder and Lead Artist at The Dreamer’s Outlet. I am a Florida native and a multimedia artist. As a former crisis advocate, I facilitated art therapy support groups for folx wanting to address and heal their trauma through lines, light, color, language, and sound. After the first 15 months or so of pandemic and global crisis, I shifted my focus from the front-lines of crisis support to working full-time for my art.
Practicing the skills I taught survivors all those years, I found my healing in painting anything from canvas to leather to my own car! I learned to create digital art and spent time in the metaverse during the booming craze of NFTs. I also practice macrame, a peacefully meditative craft of tying knots into beautiful patterns for wall hangings, plant hangers, keychains and more.
